Book Review: Age of the Fallen

I posted the below review on Amazon after reading this teen novel by Mark Olmos. It’s kind of Frank Peretti meets Japanese youth. Fun, danger, and depth in a book I’d like to see in the hands of every teenager.
You can read my two cents about other books on Amazon.com and YouthworkerJournal.com.
I enjoyed this exciting, make-you-think story. My 14- & 18-yr old can't wait to read it as we pass it around.
This powerful, thought-provoking story is a mash-up of a contemporary setting with vivid movie-in-your-mind portrayals of spiritual warfare, as well as scriptural principals thread throughout. I look forward to the sequel or any other book Olmos writes.
Character development is obviously one of the author's strengths. He set their personalities and appearances up right off and the likability factor in each hero made it easy to feel and sweat and root for them as the story progressed.
He also did a great job striking the balance between romantic inklings that naturally occur between teenagers and keeping them pure. That's not easy.
The street, club, and fight scenes were easy to picture--another of the writer's strengths, to the reader's benefit!
